If you have not caught it already be sure to pick up the recent copy of the Larchmont Chronicle and read the great story on the Gaylord. Thanks to our friends at the Chronicle (Laura Eversz) for covering the major undertaking that our always good natured Martha is tackling with the restoration project of the cast iron and glass screen in the lobby.
The front side is almost complete and you can notice how the lobby just opens up more by having the paint removed. In the past, the off white color it was layered with would create a visual barrier. Now the cast iron offers a more welcoming feel to its residents on their return home.
Soon, Martha will begin the work all over again on the flip side. We appreciate the patience of all who have been enduring the 'DETOUR' and the unsightliness while this project is underway. In the end, we know you will favor the beautiful outcome.
You can read the article in the Larchmont Chronicle posted in the Gaylord lobby near the mail room.
