It's Your Anniversary...

Rather it was our anniversary, earlier this month. The Gaylord, in the history books for 94 years now. Almost an antique! Happy, happy.

Still Nothing!?!...

Sorry folks, we still do not have any units available at this time. Keep checking in.

In the meantime, here's a fun tidbit on one of our previous tenants from the past...
Pictured here from our Gaylord Glimpses, November 1926 issue, is former tenant, Constance Talmadge, famed actress during the 1920's with 83 film credits to her name. Constance kept an apartment in the Gaylord for a number of years throughout the 1920's. As reported in the Los Angeles Times, May 9, 1923, "in 1920 her contract called for 12 pictures at $3,600,000.00." Yes, that's $3.6 MILLION DOLLARS in 1920! Nearly 100 years ago. You can say Constance was making bank back then. Good for her!

More Scene Stealing...

Our fabulous & former Gaylord tenant, "Daisy," while recently watching 1949's L.A. film noir picture, "D.O.A.," spotted with her eagle eye our hypnotic Gaylord neon in the background. The film starred Edmond O'Brien (Oscar winner for supporting actor in "The Barefoot Contessa) and Pamela Britton, who was also featured in the fun television series from the 1960's, "My Favorite Martian." Now that's some great use of the rooftop Gaylord neon!

The Haunting...

Recently, Gaylord friend, Eddie, spotted our Captain Will of the Queen Mary, on a CBS/Los Angeles news story. Check out our captain at work and get ready to feel the spirit next Friday the 13th! Spooky.
