Art (locally) Last Friday Night...

The art opening, last Friday night, on the RFK Community Schools campus (across the boulevard) was a fun and enriching event and the community came out to partake in the celebratory atmosphere. The murals throughout the campus should become an inspiration on a daily basis to those students who attend school there.

This mural (above), which was still in progress on the night of the event, was being painted by one of the talented high school students from the campus and is truly encouraging & current in regards to dialogue taking place today.

Below, is just a sampling of some of the other works that went up.

And then, framing the bottom of the Gaylord (below) is this pointed piece by Fernando Romero/URNewYork, who I had the chance to meet while he was working on his art and he stated he was 'loving the view of our Gaylord!' The message from his work, 'BE WHO YOU ARE.' Enough said.
