From June 1926...

Here you have the 'Gaylord Glimpses' from June 1926...

On page 4, they have a story describing my most favorite drive that I still make, from Los Angeles through the back roads up to Ojai and then down into Ventura. It's an escapist's dream day trip.
On page 5, you have a history lesson on the LaBrea Tar Pits.
On page 6, just look at that beaded, draped number Mrs. C. E. Millar is wearing. She strikes a fanciful pose!
On page 7, mention of returning resident Marius de Brabant and his sister. Marius was actually known as 'Baron' Marius de Brabant, being part of the Belgian aristocracy and made his fortune as V.P. of the Los Angeles-Pacific Navigation Company, a rail & shipping company. After living at the Gaylord, the 'Baron' and his sister purchased a home in Palm Springs and lived the rest of their lives there in the desert.
On pages 12 & 13, a fun story describing our local beach communities as they were back then.
On page 18, the 'Theatre Directory' with announcements for the film 'Kiki,' starring Norma Talmadge (whose sister, Constance, lived in the Gaylord and Norma being whom our neighbor the 'Talmadge' apartments was named for). Also, an announcement for that great & enduring actress, Lillian Gish appearing in the film version of 'La Boheme.'

Enjoy perusing this issue.
