Stately Lobby...

A view, looking through the newly revealed cast iron & glass screen with brass details, into our stately lobby. The magnificence of details is commanding.

Time for a Fresh Face...

Gaylord employee, amicable Aaron, giving a helping hand by putting a fresh coat of paint on the French doors leading back to our beautiful, private patio.

Distinction

One notices at once~ A charming hospitality.

For those who value the intimate comforts of a home; yet not beyond the sacrifice of personal freedom... The Gaylord makes gratifying appeal. Offering exclusive private residence with the distinction and social features of a smart hotel... in the heart of the city.

Just as every appointment tends to enhance the appeal to those who appreciate the nicety of the Gaylord as a whole, so one finds something distinctive in every entertainment~ an atmosphere intimately associated with the name Gaylord

Apartments of Two to Five Rooms.

Wilshire Boulevard at Kenmore.

(These are just a few of the remarks used to advertise the Gaylord back in the 1920's. The standards remain today with a civilized, contemporary attitude.)

Back to Adobo Hut...

The beef was flavorful and incredible. I want more. Go try it all fellow residents. It is just 2 blocks away from the Gaylord.

Adobo Hut a gogo...

If you like tender, moist pork get yourself over to the Adobo Hut in the International Food Court at the corner of Normandie and Wilshire. I just had some for lunch today, with steamed rice and enjoyed every bite of it. Can't wait to sink my teeth into the beef steak they sent me home with. For those of you big on veggies, try their eggplant. Throw your support behind young, hard working Patrick, John and his sister, who are trying to get their business going and are tenants of the Gaylord.

A Tree Grows in Gaylord...

...or it seems like it from this photo. This is actually a part of the stripping process of the cast iron in the lobby. This process creates what appears to be beautiful layers of bark in a myriad of colors. What we are after under this bark is the warm steely grey of the cast iron below. Once revealed, your hands are tempted to get a touch.

Highest stature...

Residents are impressed and appreciate the beautiful new vase we have to work with in our classic lobby for the weekly fresh floral arrangements.
Towering dogwood branches were the center of attention for this display. Reach for the stars...
