And Then We Have...




Here we have a Gaylord brochure from the 1940's, that our sweet Abe had found in his research and graciously let us scan a copy. We know this brochure is from the 1940's. If you look at the top photo, you will see the signage to the 'Gay Room,' to the left of the Gaylord awning and advertising 'Cocktails & Dancing,' which first opened at this time and is now occupied by the HMS Bounty. In between this period, the cocktail lounge was also known as the 'Secret Harbor,' from 1951 through the mid 1960's... and just check out those room rates on the 3rd page! Wow, times have changed for certain. Those rates are not offered today.
