Adding Up...

The accolades keep adding up from around the globe for our Lana's passion project, "The Sparkle," her short film. A number of Gaylord residents participated in the making of this film and Lana has worked tirelessly in promoting and getting it out there to be seen, so CONGRATS on the success! May it continue.

Today, it is a clear day, one of our neighborhood hawks is sitting on it's perch on our rooftop 'G' and the temperature is in the high 80's. SoCal living at the G'lo (the Gaylord that is)!

Again, From Halston With Love...

Once again, from the Halston Heritage Collection photo shoot, which took place here at the Gaylord in 2017.
It is amazing how an attractive model, great lighting & a good photographer can make our back garden terrace look so lush & beautiful! It is an oasis our tenants do enjoy year round. Just one of the many original details from 1924 and still looking good today.

And Then We Have...

Here we have a Gaylord brochure from the 1940's, that our sweet Abe had found in his research and graciously let us scan a copy. We know this brochure is from the 1940's. If you look at the top photo, you will see the signage to the 'Gay Room,' to the left of the Gaylord awning and advertising 'Cocktails & Dancing,' which first opened at this time and is now occupied by the HMS Bounty. In between this period, the cocktail lounge was also known as the 'Secret Harbor,' from 1951 through the mid 1960's... and just check out those room rates on the 3rd page! Wow, times have changed for certain. Those rates are not offered today.
