You look to be doing well! Back in September 2013, the film 'Tio Papi,' the brainchild of our Gaylord resident, Joey (pictured right), made it's New York debut after a successful run on the film festival circuit and eventually found a home on HBO. Now, Joey has teamed up with Steven Van Zandt (YES, that Steven of 'E Street Band' and 'The Sopranos' fame & pictured center above) to turn this movie into a television series. The story is based on Ray Negron's life (pictured left), who was taken in by New York Yankees boss, the outspoken & colorful George Steinbrenner and put to work within the organization and who suddenly had to take in his 6 nieces & nephews after his sister was killed in an automobile accident.
For those Gaylord residents who keep homes in NYC also, 'Tio Papi' has been receiving press coverage in the New York Daily News and local station PIX11, of late. Check it out...
