This past Saturday night, we watched the rise of the full moon over Wilshire Boulevard, with its' equally large 5 moons lined up all in a row just below it. Who knew such moons existed?

POTUS at the Gaylord!...
Last night, the presidential motorcade pulled up to the Gaylord and out stepped the President of the United States..., 'Fitzgerald Grant.' He was later seen exiting with 'Olivia Pope.' All to be shown in an upcoming episode of 'SCANDAL.'
The Gaylord had been established as the residence of 'Olivia Pope' a few seasons back, but only teleported to Washington, D.C. So, always keep an eye out for those Gaylord interior and/or exterior shots throughout the seasons.
And thank you, to the always professional crew of 'SCANDAL.'
In other presidential history, Richard Nixon kept an apartment in the Gaylord while running for governor of California and before becoming President. We also have a photo of President John F. Kennedy standing in front of the Gaylord, in one of our lobby cases.

Another Show!...
Ladies & Gentlemen, this Sunday, August 23rd, at 8pm, our resident Gaylord comic, Carl and his crew will be having another show in our lobby. According to the line-up, guitar comic(x) Brian O'Sullivan will be appearing twice. That's how zany these shows get! Oh and the show will be taped for Comedy Central consideration. Come out and show your love. Enjoy!

Changes Over Time...
Over time, everything changes and transforms, including us... Photo top, is the original 'Commissary,' located in the basement, where Gaylord residents could purchase their groceries & assorted sundries. Today, photo above, the same space serves as our 'Laundry Facility.' Not as pleasing to the eye, as back then, but still a space thoroughly used by our tenants. Where did all of those stately shelving units and display cases go? Just look at those finials on top of the shelving units! Attention to detail was everywhere.

Showstopper Entrance...
Judging from the '72 Chevy Nova, in the foreground, and the other 2 automobiles exiting, this photo was most likely taken in the early 1970's of our old neighbor who used to reside across the street from us here at the Gaylord, the Ambassador Hotel. This was their original entrance and just look at that gold water fountain standing regally out front. The water fountain and Ambassador pylon still stand today, but with a bit more patina on it. Thanks to our lovely Lana for finding & forwarding this photo on to us.

May 31, 1921...
Our good guy, Craig came across this photo, above, showing the wedding day ceremony of the comedic genius & actor, Buster Keaton to actress, Natalie Talmadge, on May 31st, 1921. To the right of Natalie is, mother 'Peg' Talmadge and to her right is Natalie's sister and our very own Constance Talmadge (a big time silent film star herself). Constance resided here at the Gaylord for several years in the 1920's. Buster & Natalie were frequent visitors to the Gaylord.
