There is a Number of Interactions Going on...

On the 4th line down on this page of the original Gaylord register from November 1925, is listed the Hungarian film writer & playwright, Ernest Vajda (pictured above from the Gaylord's 'The Buzzer' in Dec 1925), with nearly 50 writing credits. Ernest was the writer on 'The Cat's Pajamas' from 1926 which starred fellow Gaylord resident, Arlette Marchal (pictured above from the 'Gaylord Glimpses' of May 1927). Mr. Vajda also wrote many of the films that another fellow Gaylord resident, Adolphe Menjou was featured in, including 1928's 'A Night of Mystery.' This film was directed by Gaylord-ian, Lothar Mendes who was married to film actress & Gaylord resident, Dorothy Mackaill from 1926-28. (pictured here from the Dec 1927 issue of 'Gaylord Glimpses).

The connections do not stop there between all of the names on the original Gaylord register and they run deep. And just think, the money was big back then with residents arriving and listing their nurses, maids, servants & secretaries on the register with them.
