If you go to citywatchla.com you will find a bit of history on the Wilshire Center/Koreatown neighborhood written by a very familiar & influential L.A. family name. In 'Koreatown Profile: The House Home Savings Built,' Howard Ahmanson, Jr. writes of his family's time living in the neighborhood and his father's creation of the Ahmanson Center (the two concave, impressive structures), located on Wilshire Blvd, between Serrano & Oxford Streets. Every time I go pass this mid-century architectural gem, I admire the large, exterior orb lights hanging around the perimeter. Just brilliant. Read up!
