In Silhouette...
In this Los Angeles cityscape photo, shot sometime between 1930-1940, by Dick Whittington, you have the Bullock's Wilshire tower (now Southwestern Law School) and the Immanuel Presbyterian Church steeple on the left & center left and the Gaylord rooftop neon, center right. The photo was taken from the corner of Commonwealth & Wilshire, at Lafayette Park, looking west.

More of the Past...
When the Ambassador Hotel had it all, besides staying in the expansive hotel itself, they also provided bungalows on the property for it's guests. Many celebrities, of the time, would stay quietly in these Spanish inspired bungalows, away from the limelight.
Pictured here is the Reposa Bungalow, on the Ambassador Hotel property and through the tree tops you see the Gaylord keeping a watchful eye. This photo was taken in 2005, just before demolition began on the Ambassador and all of it's facilities. It is too bad to have lost this piece of history. The bungalow still looked charming, in order and of sound quality.
CURRENTLY, we still have no units available or on notice in the Gaylord.

And Also Starring...
Also happening, this weekend, our Gaylord resident, Allison, will be appearing in Shakespeare's, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream.' The performances will be held at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, up in the canyon, Topanga that is! This is one magically special venue to see theater in and absolutely perfect for this play (Several years back I saw this production there. Do not miss it!) 'Romeo & Juliet' also opens up there this weekend at Theatricum. For more info, go to their website at theatricum.com.
Break a leg also, Allison!
