Speaking of music & color...

This past Sunday's SASS & Art Show were a fabulous success. With Miss Mo hosting Mark Tortorici & his friends swinging live music and Ms. Martha sharing her art. With the rugs rolled up in our beautiful lobby and the furniture pushed aside, several times I counted 8 couples(!) (many in appropriate, period dress) dancing and having a good time, with many onlookers tapping their feet and enjoying the sights & sounds. Martha, I am told , did quite well with her exhibit on the patio, selling several pieces from her happy, colorful collection. Congrats & thanks to all that participated. Until next time...

Creative minds & Inspiration...

Beautiful music. Liza & Matt, who have just passed the 6 month mark as Gaylord residents , have been busy creating great music within the walls of their apartment here. On 'Cemetery', think of the lush, layered sounds of Cocteau Twins and then add in the rich, true vocals of early Morcheeba. We warmly embrace Liza & Matt, two colorful, wonderful additions that make the Gaylord the distinctive, happy home that we are known for.

...the film shoot...

Last night, the film shoot of just one scene took place inside a unit at the Gaylord. If you had not heard already this is for a major feature film directed and written by Paul Thomas Anderson ('There Will Be Blood', 'Magnolia', 'Boogie Nights', 'Punch-Drunk Love'...), starring Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix (who was in the scene last night), Philip Seymour Hoffman, Laura Dern... If you go to IMDb and search for 'The Master' you will find more information on this upcoming film. With such powerhouses from the industry working on this film, it should be destined to be a good one! We will have to keep an eye out for its release and see if we can recognize our beloved Gaylord.

The film crew worked very respectfully and finished well before their wrap time, but thank you to the Gaylord residents for putting up with any inconvenience you may have experienced.
